Angrrr Grapple 2 & Bai Lang Kickboxing Championships - July 4th & 5th

What a weekend for the Falcons, especially the senior team who did two in the same weekend. Excellent performances and excellent results from both the senior & junior teams. Well Done!!

Congratulations to all the following for getting their black belts at the recent Falcons Black Belts grading. All completed the 3hr(junior) and 4hr(senior) grading and were all deemed worthy to wear the prestigious Falcons Black Belt.

Joseph Wins Professional Debut - March 29th

Congratulations to Joseph Duffy for winning his professional MMA debut on Saturday March 29th. In full UFC rules Joseph took on the much more experienced Mick Broster and won the fight by referee's stoppage after 2 minutes 33 seconds of round one. Joseph's next fight is now scheduled for May 31st in Bristol.

"Joseph Duffy made his long-awaited foray into the paid ranks by stopping the experienced veteran Mic Broster.

Though there was a twenty year age difference between the two, the 20-year old Duffy put his mark on proceedings early on with a vicious high kick that dropped Broster and opened a large gash on the forehead.

Broster showed great resilience and awareness in tying Duffy up and using his guard, but Duffy stayed on top and used punches & elbows to the head for the first time in his career to further open the cut.

When the referee stopped the fight for the doctor to check the cut at just over two and a half minutes into the first, they called an immediate halt- the cut across Broster's head was easily an inch and a half long, and blood was pouring down his face and into his eyes"

Welsh 4ft Series - Cardiff February 24th 2008

Well done to Team Falcons on an excellent display at the 4ft series last Sunday, the fitness, stamina and technique really showed through when most of the divisions left our fighters competing against much bigger opposition. Not deterred by the size difference the Team got stuck in and came away with some very impressive victories. Well Done!!
